Fashion trends change all the time, but you can stay up to date with the newest looks by reading fashion publications, watching fashion shows on television, and paying attention to the impact of celebrities.

It might be difficult to remain on top of current trends because fashion is always changing. Documenting historical fashion trends is also crucial to understanding historical situations. 1920s  

Particularly in the US, this decade had a big impact on the world.  A period of economic prosperity, a wealth of employment options, and a slow but steady progress toward gender equality for women followed the end of World War I.  The overall attitude was upbeat, which was mirrored in the clothing selections. There was a lot of high fashion, with women donning short hairstyles, wearing fringe gowns, and heavily applying cosmetics. Men preferred suits, baker's hats, and suspenders. During that time, these were the most popular fashion trends.

1950s  

As World War II came to an end, fashion showed happiness. As with the 1920s, the end of the war sparked a surge in interest in high fashion. The short bob of the 1920s gave way to longer, curly hairstyles as new design trends evolved. With its black leather jackets, white T-shirts, and trousers, the greaser style gained popularity in men's fashion.

1970s  

The 1970s fashion and a variety of cultural activities. Vibrant clothing such as tie-dye, bell-bottom pants, and mini and maxi skirts became the prevailing trends. For the first time in a while, both men and women grew their hair long; men also returned to sporting beards and mustaches. The 1970s were marked by great music and generally positive vibes, which were mirrored in the fashion choices of the era.

1980s  

High-energy music that had a big impact on fashion styles defined this era. Punk rock, heavy metal, and rap were all quite popular.  Women accessorized with huge jewelry and vibrant cosmetics.  Black clothes and thick eyeliner were popular among punk rockers.  Men's and women's fitness clothing has become more and more popular.  Fashion trends struck a chord with various segments of society.

1990s

During this decade, fashion took a more subtle approach. Although huge hair was still preferred by women, makeup trends started to favor more natural looks.  People chose to wear jeans and plain-colored blouses, which were frequently accessorized with Converse shoes as a fashion statement.  Furthermore, compared to earlier decades, body piercings grew more prevalent.
